At Airthrie Design Co, we believe your home should feel like a haven: considered, calm, and functional, whether you’re hosting a full house or enjoying a quiet night in.

Airthrie is built on the idea that great design is more than how a space looks. It’s how it works. Every project is approached with equal parts creativity and structure, balancing timeless aesthetics with practical planning, clear workflows, and intelligent documentation.

We specialise in residential new builds and renovations, working closely with homeowners, owner-builders, and builders to create spaces that are cohesive, liveable, and easy to execute on site. From early design direction through to detailed drawings, schedules, and specifications, our process is designed to reduce friction, protect budgets, and deliver clarity at every stage.

Airthrie is known for thoughtful design, calm guidance, and documentation that bridges the gap between vision and construction. When the process works, everything else follows.

Founder & Principal Designer

Blaire Marchand

Airthrie Design Co was founded by me - Blaire Marchand. I’m an interior designer and workflow specialist with over a decade of experience across new builds, renovations, and complex residential projects.

My expertise spans interior and exterior design, lighting and electrical planning, colour consultancy, and detailed design documentation. With a strong background working alongside builders, trades, and suppliers, I bring a deeply practical understanding of how homes are actually built and not just how they’re styled.

Clear, functional documentation sits at the core of my approach. Thoughtful drawings, finishes schedules, and specifications are treated as essential tools, ensuring design intent is carried through seamlessly from concept to construction. This structured, builder friendly process helps minimise confusion on site and gives clients confidence from start to finish.

I’m known for my calm, considered approach, Blaire supports builders by taking the design workload off their hands, working with clients directly to select and finalise ‘the fun stuff’ and returning it in a clear, buildable format. For homeowners, I provide guidance, clarity, and reassurance through what can otherwise feel like an overwhelming process.

Outside of work, I am a lover of good food, good champagne, travelling near and far to find the perfect winter morning, and my much-loved cat (who normally makes an appearance in a Teams meeting). I’m a proud Western Sydney local, passionate about shaping the new and evolving West, elevating the Blue Mountains, and creating homes that are thoughtful, designed to REALLY live in, and are environmentally conscious.

Why Airthrie?

Airthrie House was the name of my Mum’s childhood home in London. It wasn’t grand or famous, but it was warm, welcoming, and full of meaning. We often look at photos of family gatherings - the food, laughter and love that was written into the walls.

That idea of home is what Airthrie exists to create: spaces that feel grounded, functional, and genuinely lived in.
